OUR MISSION

Our mission is to provide young people with immersive, engaging, outdoor educational experiences. The skills, knowledge and memories gained by participants will be lifelong and unbeatable.

Teachers are vital to our mission as they lead these experiences with their own students, enhancing relationships with young people beyond the classroom.

Our unique experiences, combined with the help of dedicated teachers, will empower young people, creating life savers, future leaders and sustainable, global citizens.

Why should you work with Survivor Adventure Tours?
We will provide you will all the training and equipment needed to create an incredible experience for you and your students. All travel and food, plus camping and first aid equipment is provided. Excursions have qualified instructors present so you can relax and enjoy the activities with your students, and all staff will receive a training session before the event so they are informed on every aspect of the experience.

So often, trips are led by staff on good will and in their own time. To support you and show our appreciation, you can join in with all activities on our excursions at no extra charge to you or your students. All of your food and camping equipment is also included, plus we offer each staff member a personal spending allowance for the weekend.

 
We supply you as leaders will all the necessary risk assessments to share with your schools. We also provide templates for letters to parents and medical forms for students, and supply you with quality resources on orienteering, first aid, shelter building and much more, meaning preparation is simple yet impactful.

How will your students benefit from taking part in Survivor Adventure Tours?
Our experiences are a great warm up for the Duke of Edinburgh Award to assess if students have what it takes, or a useful alternative if you want students to learn invaluable skills but not have the checklist style criteria to complete. Survivor Adventure Tours combines great aspects of teamwork, first aid and physical activity. Think the DofE award meets crucial crew and an escape room.
 
The activities included provide students with the skills and knowledge to become life savers, future leaders and sustainable, global citizens. We have strong links to various curriculum subjects through geography, history, life skills, science and PE.

Staff and students alike will create unbeatable, lifelong memories taking part in Survivor Adventure Tours. Relationships between young people and their teachers are strengthened beyond the classroom, so whether it's a reward, an incentive or a teaching opportunity, Survivor Adventure Tours is the future of outdoor education.

 

Background

My name is Mike Richards, and I am the founder of Survivor Adventure Tours. I am a Head of Geography with 12 years teaching experience, working in state secondary schools in South Yorkshire. I have an undergraduate degree in BSc Geography and a Masters degree in Education.

I have a huge passion for the outdoors and a strong desire to see young people thrive beyond the classroom. I have led countless fieldtrip experiences for students over the years, and I aim to bring learning to life, via Survivor Adventure Tours, so that young people can learn valuable new skills and be the leaders of tomorrow.
